Meeting Commissioner Roswall
On Monday, June 23, 2025, Helmut Gaugitsch und Christian Selig, co-chairs of the ENCA IG Sustainable Land Use, met EU Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall in Brussels.
They were accompanied by Antoine Oger, Executive Director of IEEP.
The aim of the meeting was to present and discuss the two ENCA Engagement pieces on the interface between agricultural policy and biodiversity/nature conservation. There was high interest and extremely positive feedback from EU Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall.
There were also discussions about intensifying future cooperation between DG ENV and the ENCA network. Key topics here included the future of agricultural policy, the crucial role of farmers in the implementation of the Nature Restoration Regulation and biodiversity/nature credits as an agricultural and environmental policy measure.
